The 9th season of this very entertaining show was for the most part superb. Mark Twain appeared, played by William Shatner. Also Maud Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables) had a little thing with Crabtree.

The finale was awful, though. Julia was shot and William kidnapped by an insane patient of Julia's. It was totally off the charts unbelievable. This show is cute and clever, but in that episode the writers went too far in the adventure realm. I didn't enjoy it or get it, but was happy that the characters survived it. I was sorry to see Dr. Grace depart, but once they had her dump George I guess her fate was sealed.

I hope they get better writers for the tenth season. They have a great cast and wonderful guest stars to help them along.
