Summary of this DVD... | ||
This was a great movie about an American Hero. Hollywood doesn't usually go for movies that portray Americans in a positive way. Leave it to Clint Eastwood to be able to point out the story of the man who saved 155 people from certain death by safely landing his plane (without any engine power) on the Hudson River, January 15, 2009. A lot of rescue people and air traffic control people in New York stepped up that day as they always do in a crisis. It is what people in the U.S. do, regardless of who the President is. (At that time it was Bush, the Younger) They step up. Clint Eastwood is just about the only film maker working in Hollywood who could tell this story because he knows what works. The NTSB and FAA people are the bad guys. They come off as a bunch of morons. Well, the flying public is on their own with these losers in charge of administration. I did not realize that they would want the pilot's head on a platter just because he survived, but they did. Someone to blame is always the order of the day in Washington. Ordinary Americans can be heroes. Their government is run by a bunch of pinheads. Sully is a uniquely American Can-do, modest hero. No argument from me there. Tom Hanks was superb in the role. Of course, Hollywood pretty much ignored this great movie because it didn't fit in with their stupid agenda of the day. They should all work for the FAA and NTSB. They'd fit right in there. Like I said in the beginning, GREAT MOVIE. | ||
