Summary of this Book...
I bought this book, discounted at Barnes and Noble. It promised to be a book about coping with a friend's suicide. The main character is Aubrey, who is a few years beyond high school and somewhat successfully navigating her way through the working world when a high school friend commits suicide. This "friend" wasn't really a friend at all. She never cared more for anything then she did herself. This wasn't a great book, but it was a pretty good one. I kept reading it and I have a rule that I abandon books after 50 pages if I don't care. So, on some level I cared about Aubrey. I definitely did not care about her high school "chum" Rachel, though. Still, it kept me reading to find out how Aubrey would emerge from all this. I found the ending a bit lacking, but most books are that way these days. I would read more by this author, as I definitely think she has potential as a storyteller. She kept me reading and caring about Aubrey, almost to the very end. I think that most individuals who go the suicide route don't care that much about other people's reaction when they get to that point. It's usually a totally selfish act, in the end.
