These are the final two episodes of the wonderful series set in the 1960s.

I loved the show, but hated the ending. After trying for years to bring his wife's killer to justice, George Gently thinks he's done it. That's when the whole government conspiracy that led to his wife's killing is unraveled.

In the end, he reconciles with John a bit in the last episode. Then George is murdered by the same government agent who murdered his wife.

That made me very sad and I didn't like the ending. Still, for the most part this was an unusual and very entertaining show with smart plots and great acting.

To have only two episodes in the final season was a bit of a disappointment.
