Gordon sheds new light on the thorny topics of agreements, fragments, clauses and run-on's by populating her spooky, wicked tome with a cast of characters straight out of Central Castings "weird, halloweeny beings." But make no mistake, the author is a gifted teacher of the correct usage of the English language, and a wordsmith with many published books to her credit.

I reach for Gordon's narrative style textbook with a gothic twist any time I need a fabulous adjective or clear explanations of the complexities of grammar. Her vocabulary is exemplary.

Her playful, highly creative book amazes me and invigorates my own writings.
