Summary of this Book...
Another novel in the Maisie Dobbs series. Flash forward to the spring of 1937. Maisie has married James and they were happy in Canada. But, all too soon, he was killed in a plane crash and Maisie lost her baby girl in a still-birth. It is a sad time that finds her having traveled to India and now on the Rock of Gilbraltar in Spain. She gets caught up in helping the wounded in the Spanish civil War and in trying to solve the mystery of a photographer (who saw too much)'s death. At the end she finds herself again nursing wounded in yet another war. It is a sad, bittersweet novel, with no easy ending. It made me very sad, but it was extremely well written, the best so far.
