Summary of this Book...
This was another quick reading adventure from Danielle Steele. She is a genius at getting her reader to care about the characters enough to keep reading. The premise is interesting. A woman has a life that isn't going anywhere. Against her own judgment she becomes hooked on a show that reads a lot like Downton Abbey. Her life falls apart and she decides to go to England and work in the village that is connected to the show. Things happen and she becomes more involved with the people who work on Beauchamp Hall. Then she gets to know the owners. It is a good premise. My only problem is with who she ends up with at the end. The ending and the pairing at the end seemed rushed to me. The main character, Winnie, has a boyfriend she doesn't really like in the beginning. He betrays her with her best friend. Then she decides since her life is going nowhere in Michigan, why not take off for England and the little village where her beloved series is still being filmed. Danielle Steele has a great imagination and she gets the reader invested in cheering for Winnie. I just wish, with this book, that she would have developed the Winnie/Freddie connection a little more so it didn't feel so hurried at the end. I enjoyed reading the book and getting lost in the English countryside.
