I really enjoyed this book. As the headline of this review implies, the character is EXTREMELY derivative of Batman (family killed, dedicates life to training self into a deadly weapon of the night to eradicate crime), but I happen to love Batman and have been reading the comics for years, so this isn't so different than a new artist/comic book writer coming up with a different twist on the familiar story. Overall, the characters were great, the writing was fast-paced, and I was totally engaged in the world he created. There were a lot of typos throughout the book so I wish there had been a little more time spent proofreading and polishing... but all in all it was a very satisfying read and I'll probably check out another book or two by this author at some point.
