I honestly wanted to like this book, I really did. I loved the concept, so I overlooked the author's misuse of several words (not just imprecise synonyms, straight-up incorrect adjectives). I tried to ignore the complete lack of realism about how a television show is produced (hint: it's not by having a producer tell the network she don't know how many episodes a show will be or even how it will end). I tried to push past the fact that the characters act in service of the story rather than the other way around, taking inauthentic actions for the sake of keeping the scenes interesting and the story moving along. I kept hoping that the ending would somehow redeem this story... but even that was a huge disappointment. I don't want to spoil anything in this review, but there's a random twist that serves ZERO purpose other than keeping the story going for a few more pages, and when the killer is revealed, it's such an offensive cliche that I couldn't read anymore. I really wanted to like it, but this book started off rough and only got worse.
