I wanted to like this book but it's complete Commander-In-Chief wish fulfillment. The President is always right, his opponents in Congress and elsewhere in government are opportunistic idiots, he has to take matters into his own hands to save the world... normally I'd be up for a mindless, fun action/thriller, but this just felt a little too much like one of the authors living out a fantasy at the expense of good storytelling and characterization.
