Summary of this Book...
The last time I read this book was about twenty years ago when I was studying for my A Levels. I loved it then, and I think I loved it even more this time around. The pages are dripping with the most incredible imagery. Everything symbolises something else. Oh, my word. But, it’s not just about the technical abilities of Margaret Atwood (although, they are immense), it also tells a brilliant story. It has personal and societal tragedy. It has horrific inhumanity. It has hope and love. Despite the inhumanity, maybe even because of it, it speaks to anyone with a heart. I can’t wait to read The Testaments when it is released.
This type of Book is good for...
It’s a fabulous lesson on symbolism and imagery. There is so much on every single page, and I appreciate more now, as an almost middle aged woman, Thank did as an idealistic teenager.
I especially liked... | ||
The symbolism. I know I’m keeping on about it, but it’s seriously clever.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I want to read the long-awaited sequel.
This Book made me feel...
Actually, a little nostalgic because I remember my first reading, over twenty years ago, and I get the book on a much deeper level.
The author of this Book...
Wow. Awesomeness! | ||
I recommend this Book because...
It’s scarily accurate, in some ways. It’s a great story. It’s a lesson on great writing.
