Summary of this DVD... | ||
This was a movie that I considered going to the theatre to see it. I decided to wait for the DVD. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I would. It drags in some parts. The premise is that a power outage creates a scenario where the world (except for a few people) totally forgets about the Beatles and their music. The lead actor (Hinesh Patel) brilliantly portrays one of the few who remember. He starts singing Beatles songs and is immediately appreciated and revered and idolized in a way he never was before. I liked how the premise is resolved - very clever and Hinesh Patel and Lily James are brilliant together. Some of the script lagged for me in the middle, but whatever. It was still cute - one to watch on DVD though and I am glad I didn't shell out the 20$ to see it in the theatre. I love the Beatles and their music and would have liked to see Paul and Ringo show up in some way and endorse this film. I wonder why they didn't. Maybe they weren't asked. More is the pity. Cute film, enjoyable, with great music and fine performances. Hinesh Patel and Lily James are better at acting than most of the average bears walking around Hollywood. | ||
