This is book 5 in Eric Ugland's "The Good Guy Series." Montana is a character created by a desperate man about to enter a gaming world to escape death in the real world. That was the beginning of book 1.

Now, the Duke of Coggeshall works to get his holding built. However, problems arise when he doesn't know what he's doing. He continues to make poor decisions in the eyes of others, but as he is our hero, naturally, things work out for him in the end. But the book ends with Coggeshall being virtually surrounded--Corrupted Ursas on one side and a threatening army from the empire on the other.

Each book ends without everything resolved so you need to continue on to the next book in the series. I'm already dreading catching up to his writing.

This book is good for people who enjoy gaming and books about gaming as well as people who enjoy sarcastic main characters.

The main character is working to leave his old life of crime behind and become a good guy. I love his snarky attitude and quick wit. A bad guy struggling to be good is something many people enjoy, including me.

I don't like how the book ends with unresolved problems, but I totally get why he does it. I also wish the books were longer, not that they are particularly short. I just really love this series and never want the books to end.

This series is so much fun! And if you like role playing games, you'll probably really love this book.
