Summary of this Book...
This is a quality Christian historical romance with lots of suspense and action. It's the second in Mary Connealy's "Brides of Hope Mountain" and was just as good as the first novel, but distinctly different and highly enjoyable to me.
This type of Book is good for...
People who want to feel like they're on an adventure, Christians, and people who like sweet romance.
I especially liked... | ||
Ilsa's strong character, Mitch's character, the Pinkerton involvement, the cross country adventure and the happy ending. I also liked that the book ended with a bit of foreshadowing for the next novel in the series but not on a crazy cliffhanger that makes it hard to sleep. It was just right for me.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the next novel in the series but I have to wait for Mary to write it.
This Book made me feel...
Like I was Ilsa and living her adventure and romance.
The author of this Book...
Is a prolific and highly acclaimed writer of mostly historical Christian romance. She's known for adding humor and fun to her stories. She blogs at the collaborative www.seekerville.com and is highly personable. Disclosure: I am friends with her on Facebook and a big fan of her writing. I think I've read every book she's ever published. Amazon's info: "Mary Connealy writes "romantic comedies with cowboys" and is celebrated for her fun, zany, action-packed style. She has sold more than half a million books. She is the author of the popular series Wild at Heart, Kincaid Brides, Trouble in Texas, Lassoed in Texas, Sophie's Daughters, and many other books. Mary lives on a ranch in eastern Nebraska with her very own romantic cowboy hero. Learn more at www.maryconnealy.com."
I recommend this Book because...
It's a fun, uplifting read.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It's not for people who would be offended by a Christian worldview or even for Christians who would be offended by a villain's evil actions (nothing is taken too far, imo, but there is some violence, more than the average Christian novel).
Further Comments... | ||
I borrowed the hardcover version of this book from my local library.
