Summary of this Book...
This is an exciting thriller with a very late in the book romantic component. It focuses on Evelyn Jones' journey from rebellious teen, to earnest young adult, to wrongly convicted young adult, to a strong, intelligent ~28 year old who kicks butt and takes names. She has to go by different names in the journey and the names work to move the story forward. There are some inconsistencies and unrealistic elements but overall I found it to be an excellent read and after about halfway through, all but impossible to put down.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like to see character growth, strong women, and interesting family dynamics. People who like a good mystery, thriller or woman-centered writing. People interested in how sociopaths work (this relates to the evil characters).
I especially liked...
Adult Evie/Petie/Evelyn, her sister and Zone's characters. Tully the teddy bear and the paranormal element. The information about Alaska. The interesting and unusual bank setting (historic) introduction, all of the wilderness camp scenes (except the first, which was okay), and fun hotel later in the book. I liked how she used a large number of participating characters and made them memorable enough to tell apart and keep in mind so when they popped up later I still remembered each one and at the end it tied things together nicely.
I didn't like...
I found it awfully hard to believe that Evie could be quite so gullible even at 18 years of age. Especially with her particular job training. I'm sure she would have been taught about fraud, if not entrapment, during her studies and the whole situation around Donald White was just one red flag after another. I know she was desperate to prove herself but I just don't see that part of the story. Especially in light of her brilliance 10 years later.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read about Evie's next level of adventures with Zone.
This Book made me feel...
SPOILER ALERT

From her escape on, I felt like I was living the experiences along with Evie. Earlier in the book I wasn't as connected.

I highly enjoyed it. It started a little slow but once it got going it really gripped me.
