Summary of this Book...
I'm not a big reader of horror, but I loved this book (once I got past the image on the cover). I was hooked into the story from the very start, and hardly put it down until I reached the conclusion. The main plot is imaginative and clever, and there are subplots that weave into the central plot seamlessly. The story revolves around a family moving into an inherited house on a plot of land in Australia's Outback. You come to know each member of the family as the terror on their land is discovered. The family members, and several members of their new community, are very relatable and the subplots realistic to readers in the here and now - which makes the story so real that the horror lurking on the land is even scarier.
I especially liked... | ||
I especially liked how seamlessly I came to know the characters, who were very well developed. I was easily able to care about some, dislike others, and even have my feelings about one character twist from loathing to sorrow.
Further Comments... | ||
I was a little put off this book because of the image on the cover – I'm really glad I got over it and read the book. Once I started it, I didn't want to stop. It's a great story with just the right amount of tension, creepiness, and great characters you get to know along the way. I highly recommend this book to lovers of horror, and those who aren't quite sure.
