This is considered a classic book for Christian wives on following the Bible's guidance in being a wife that honors God. Martha Peace has a no-nonsense writing style that probably isn't for everyone, but I like it. She gets the Bible part right most of the time. I only really had one major disagreement, which I'll cover in the didn't like section. But overall, it's a great book with lots of Biblical advice on how to be a great wife God's way.

The charts. There are a lot of them. For example, there's one that contrasts selfish thoughts with godly thoughts. And there are a lot of scripture references, and often she cites the whole verse(s) so if you don't have them memorized already, you don't have to stop reading to go look them up. I also liked the examples she shared and all the great suggestions on more godly ways to do things.

That she considers depression a sin. Sure, extended pity parties outside of chemical brain imbalances (what I consider medical depression) might be. But being actually medically depressed isn't a sin and I think it's harmful to inflict that judgment on someone who's already suffering from depression.

Talk to the author about whether she has a Titus 2 (godly women's mentorship) program in her local church and connect her with my church's women's ministry leader. Probably I'll just ask my leader if she's read the book though, and go from there.

Like the author's writing could help me in my pursuit of being a woman after God's own heart (like King David from the Bible, except female ).

I really enjoyed most of it.
