This type of Book is good for...
Those who like thriller bordering on cyberpunk/technopunk, and a decade ago, straight-up science fiction. Now it would appeal to those concerned about the current state of AI.
Further Comments...
I'm probably not the right audience for this book.

I love the premise. Sure it's a common trope, but Suarez puts an impressive spin on it. In fact, I loved the first half of the book. It was mostly fast and snappy, with some interesting quests and some okay characters.

The action sequences are nuts. Think Michael Bay pacing with Saw-style puzzles and guts. Much like any Michael Bay movie, the action ends up bordering on absurd, but they weren't any less fun (if you're into that sort of thing lol). At one point, I described the book as "CyberSaw". Do what you want with that information.

By the second half of the book, though, it became a bit of a slog. Being a tech-based book, there were a ton of acronyms and wires and ports and WEP connections, and hacking jargon, and wifi signals, and on and on and on.

It was around the second half mark when the characters started to grate on me a bit. Without the action to prop them up, they were a little one-note. The women were mostly relegated to side-chicks with physical attributes.

The ending didn't satisfy. I don't mind cliffhangers or vague endings as a general rule, but this jumped from one non-ending to another non-ending, the second of which served to infodump the time period in between both endings and then shove us into the cliffhanger.
