Written in 1938, it has a similar vibe to my dear old Agatha, and in that regard, it fits the style. The book wasn't terrible (I know that is not a stellar endorsement). But I did fall asleep twice, and usually I choose to put a down because I'm going to fall asleep lol. What I did like was the treatment of the victim. We spent an inordinate amount of time with said person, and at first I didn't realize why. But once the murder happened, I realized I kind of liked the person. So, all I can say is, well played Ms. Marsh. There was some side story that went nowhere, and one of the characters was exceptionally annoying, although he's supposed to be integral to the story in a good way. But overall, I did enjoy the story, despite the writing not being quite as engaging as I would have liked. The mystery itself was well-plotted, and no, I didn't solve this one. I missed the main clue! | ||
