The book is divided into three sections. Part One TALKING SHOP is an essay on the importance of "voice." It is important for any writer to have a voice.

PART Two is his notebook entries of ideas and snippets of story information.

PART THREE is a MEMOIR OF AN APPRENTICE that Tells about his struggles to become the best writer he can be.

The rest of the information is about being a true writer which is a writer who will be read fifty years from now.

Writers and readers who enjoy memoirs, books about writers and writing, and who like using words to create art.

This book has plenty of treasure for readers and writers. I like the list of his ideas and snippets of stories because I can use if for inspiration.

I can't think of anything I didn't like, however, some readers might find reading the list tedious.

This book needs further study.

I felt as if I had found wonderful treasures.

P. Horgan is a very good writer with tons of good advice.

There are many good examples of notes and other information about writing and literature.

If you do not enjoy lists another writing book might be a better option.

This is a good writing resource.
