" About the Author The late Claude M. Bristol was a lawyer, lecturer, investment banker, and foreign correspondent. He is the coauthor of the long-time bestseller, "TNT: The Power Within. Mitch Horowitz, who abridged and introduced this volume, is the PEN Award-winning author of books including Occult America and The Miracle Club: How Thoughts Become Reality.  The Washington Post says Mitch "treats esoteric ideas and movements with an even-handed intellectual studiousness that is too often lost in today's raised-voice discussions." Follow him @MitchHorowitz." Way back in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, I heard Tony Robbins say that this book was a must read. I went and saved it to my Amazon wish list, because my library didn't have it. For some reason, I decided to buy it last week and read it this week. It was neat, reading the first person to inspire Tony Robbins on subjects he talks about to this day. Claude Bristol is living on through Tony Robbins and probably everyone today who has read his book and put it into action. I didn't know, until reading this book, that he had been an investigative journalist. I especially liked his insight into how differently dressed people were treated at police stations. It's not fair or right, but knowing this might help someone in the future. Though maybe things have changed now. The original, full length version of hte book was published back in 1948. Times sure have changed. Anyway, I found this to be a short, easy-to-read book. I liked it enough that I might read the longer version one day. Or I might just re-read this shorter version. For those with a Kindle Unlimited subscription, the electronic book is included in that so "free" for you. It is also available on Audible, although this listing didn't include that note. Can we use Audible codes here for product reviews? If you read this and know the answer, please send me an email here with the answer. This book isn't as highly rated as I would have expected, only 4.1 stars on Amazon and the Amazon page doesn't say how many on Goodreads. It is on some Amazon "bestseller" lists, though pretty far down. Here's it's standing as of 7:58 pm on September 19, 2024: "Best Sellers Rank: #2,891,065 in Books (See Top 100 in Books) #7,135 in New Thought #22,610 in Personal Finance (Books) #28,936 in Success Self-Help." Though even though it's not high up, it's still neat to me that this abridged version, published in 2018, of a book originally written in 1948, is on the list at all. I'm sure Tony Robbins' mentions of it help the sales a lot though. | ||
