Summary of this Book...
This book examines the types of books that are being challenged or banned. It explains why and how banning is done by various individuals, parents, various groups, political officials, political groups, and other means. Public libraries, public schools especially are dealing with over whelming issues surrounding the banning of books and topics people feel should not be read by young readers. Although these groups are vocal and insisting their views are heard however, according to this book the majority of Americans oppose book bans according to recent polls. This is a good inside look at the history of book banking.
