Cam's husband, Luke, disappears. The next time she sees him, he's holding three people hostage in a warehouse. Two of the hostages are dead. Luke is on the run.

But Cam doesn't give up on Luke, even though there is no contact from him for years. When she finally begins the process of having him declared dead, things start happening. Clues that Luke might be trying to contact her.

The story switches viewpoints from the wife to the hostage negotiator, giving us a look into both of their lives as the race to the finish line begins.

People who like relationship stories. That's what this book is about, mainly. Relationships we long for, those we foster, and those we cannot give up on, no matter what. The story is touted as a "domestic thriller" which is fairly accurate, although a good three quarters of the book plod along not all too thrillingly (my opinion!).

Having the differing viewpoints. Maybe it wouldn't have worked out, but adding Luke's viewpoint in now and then wouldn't have hurt the story.

Some of the reviews say that the story is implausible. I agree.

Mainly, all of the explanations were jammed into the last few chapters of the book. I would have liked to have seen some of those reasons sprinkled throughout.

When the threads of a story are tugged gently then with more vigor to a jaw-dropping conclusion, a decent story becomes amazing.

Like it was an interesting story.
