Summary of this Book...
Lila is newly divorced. She wrote her bestselling book about keeping a marriage alive and thriving at the same time her husband was cheating on her with another woman. While she's finding her way in this new life of hers, pressure mounts from her agent to write another book. Seems doable; Lila certainly needs the money. Already trying to cope with raising her two girls, along with the newly widowed stepfather who seems to be slowly moving into her house, issues compound when her long-lost father shows up on her doorstep. Lila's got Ninety Nine Problems, at the least.
This type of Book is good for...
This is a book about new beginnings. About writing, or at least trying to write. It's about life at its messiest, when all of the problems seem to be on your head, all at once. How do you cope? And how do you learn to forgive? These questions are posed and are answered within the confines of the story. I found myself rooting for all of the characters, even the ones I wasn't supposed to like. Because after all, they are human too. It's an entertaining read and also makes us think.
I especially liked... | ||
I am a fan of Jojo Moyes. "Me Before You" made me ugly cry. So did "The Girl You Left Behind." This book isn't a tearjerker, but it is entertaining and worth a read.
This Book made me feel...
Life is worth living. All of it. Even the messy parts.
