I have been looking forward to reading this, and it did not disappoint. (Now, I can’t wait for the next book.)

Judith, Suzie and Becks are back to solve another murder in Marlow. This time, a flamboyant amateur dramatics director is shot while out with his committee on the Marlow Belle. His body is later found in the river with two bullet holes in it. But who killed him? It must have been one of the people on the boat with him, and they all have big motives. We see the three women working in ‘secret’ to uncover the murderer as Tanika has been ordered not to involve them in any case again. But Judith, of course, was never one for obeying orders.

There is a lot of humour in this book, and Robert Thorogood has a writing style that keeps you completely enthralled. There were a few twists thrown in near the end. And, the end … Oh. My. Word.

I loved this book.

Anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries written with warmth and humour. People who love good, interesting characters.

Judith. Always Judith. She is so funny (and so naughty). I love the camaraderie between Judith, Suzie and Becks. They are three strong women, and I love that they are not young, attractive airheads. They don't need to be with their humour and warmth.

Read another Marlow Murder Club book. But I've read them all already.
