Summary of this Book...
I really enjoyed this book. Like many people, I have spent time wondering about JFK’s assassination. Who really shot him? Was Lee Oswald acting alone? I can honestly say this book has kind of changed my mind on that matter.

Jake Epping is just your average school teacher, but his ‘ordinary’ changes when the local diner owner Al shows him a portal that leads to 1958. Al begs Jake to go back and prevent the shooting of JFK because, if he can do this, the world will be saved. He’s sure of it. So, off Jake goes, becoming George Amberson. When he meets Sadie, he falls instantly in love, eventually telling her who he is and where he’s from. The question is: Can he stop Oswald? Although it should have been, what will the future look like if he does?

Two things I learned from this book: the past is obdurate. It will fight against being changed. Also, the past harmonises with the future. So you will keep seeing coincidences in the land of ago.

I didn't understand all of Stephen King's imagery and metaphors. Like, the Yellow Card Man. I didn't really get that. But I'm sure it was deep and philosophical in some way.

Great read. Fun, interesting, enjoyable. Though, I probably would say it’s more of a 4 1/2 than a 4 stars. The middle bit, the love story between George and Sadie, didn’t hold my interest as much as the time travel/JFK stuff.
This type of Book is good for...
People who have time to dedicate to a long book (over 800 pages). Stephen King fans. Those who still wonder about JFK's assassination. SciFi/time travel lovers. So, a lot of people, really.
I especially liked...
The parts where George is trying to follow and listen to Lee Oswald, to make sure he is acting alone. I found myself looking up a couple of the real people mentioned in this story because it really interested me.
I didn't like...
The parts with Sadie and George and their love story. I didn't really like Sadie, even though I know I was supposed to like her.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read more information about the JFK conspiracy.
This Book made me feel...
Excited. Tense. Intrigued. Interested.
The author of this Book...
Stephen King. Need I say more?
I recommend this Book because...
It's a great story, based largely on truth.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It's a long read, and there are some parts in the middle that aren't as interesting as the others.
