About Me
I have been writing since at least my teenage years. I've had one short, humorous essay published in a local newspaper, but that is the extent of my public exposure to date. I hope to change that in the near future. Like most unpublished writers, I often wonder if I have what it takes to make it as a writer. We won't know if we don't try! I suppose that's why I'm here.
Type of Writer
Aspiring. I have lately felt an urge to write which I had not felt earlier in life.
Writing Style
Primarily essays and poetry. I don't seem to have much patience with fiction. That is something I want to work on.
Interests
Aside from writing, recreational cycling is my favorite pastime. I also read a lot.
Favorite Genres
Biography, science, philosophy, general non-fiction. I've been reading classics lately (e.g. Dickens, Cervantes).
Favorite Books
T. H. White's "Once and Future King," Michener's "The Source," and anything by Twain.
Favorite Authors
Mark Twain, James Michener, Will Durant.
Favorite Poets
Tennyson, Frost, Emerson.
Favorite Music
Classical, folk music, some rock.
Favorite Movies
"Lawrence of Arabia," "In Harm's Way," "Out of Africa."
