I hate writing about myself because I'm not really sure that I know who I am. I can tell you what I have done. I was an Army officer for 20 years, and then I was a university lecturer, which means I never had tenure. I did a lot of writing in both jobs, but it was all non-fiction. When I was bored in the field or on my commute, I made up stories to amuse myself. A few years ago, I decided to write them down and see if other like them and they did. I've published about a dozen stories and poems. |
Pantser, but that is because I usually write short stories. I'm having to plot since I've extended to novellas and novels. |
A beta reader told me I write like a scriptwriter. I start with dialogue and minimum scenario and build from there. |
I've had a long interest in World War 1 because the world and society changed so much. That is why my historical fiction focuses so much on that period. |

That is like picking your favorite child. I have too many to count (books, not children) |
Aimee Runyan, Kate Quinn, Ellen Marie Wiseman (although I have to admit, her books always leave me depressed) |
Kipling (I have no shame in that), Taylor Mali |

This often depends on what I am writing. |
Casablanca and Maltese Falcon. I can and have watched them several times. |
