Ran away to sea at 17, sailed the Pacific in yachts and fishing boats -- some rare adventures from those six years. Then became a student at University of Hawaii, working up to five jobs at a time to pay my way. Twelve years and three degrees later, entered career mode as journalist, novelist and literary translator. Spend all my spare time in the forest or ocean, or painting. A marriage here and there, two healthy, handsome sons now in their early 20s. Still writing.... |
Have written movie scripts, novels, short stories, poetry and essays, and close to 200 articles. |
Somewhat too journalistic. At times, rhapsodic and pleasing to my mind's ear -- but I can never tell about my own writing! |
Over-population (of humans on Earth); the ocean; plants, animals and all the sciences. Painting, crafts, growing things. Evolving technology; my own little world of family and home and all my many projects. |
