I grew up in a small city along the Mississippi in almost the exact middle of the U.S. I am a lifelong resident of Iowa, having spent most of my adult life here in the capital, whose metro area has a population of about 640,000. I come from a family of seven children, and my wife Juli and I have four children and ten grandchildren of our own. With our kids grown, Juli and I remain in the home place, a Cape Cod style house built in 1930. I am retired and delighted to have more writing time. |
Poetry and stories. I've completed 3 novels. I have printed two chapbooks and plan someday to print a full book of poems. |
I like to write things which make my reader feel good about life. I withhold darker pieces; the world has enough darkness. |
I love quiet time. Perhaps most writers do. I like walking to the library. I like reading. For years I have followed politics closely, but I am completely frustrated with U.S. politics now. I like comedy movies and television. I love my family. |
