BC Prompt:We all have those days.... you know the ones where you bite your tongue more times than not ▼ What's this got to do with the prompt?! Well, one reason I'm broke, no joke, is because I take staycations twice a month to GET OUT THE HOUSE! I need my own space, but I can't afford it because I'm a big spender and I mostly spend money on ways to escape the small house I share with 2.5 people. #Catch2022 Interesting notes: ▼ |
"Spiritual Newsletter (April 13, 2016)" I've been saying this for years! I meditate all the time and my prayer life had gotten better b/c I approach it like meditation and not just "please bless this and help me with that". I even titled my blog 'reflections' for this reason, it could just as easily be 'meditations. In regards to the "Spiritual Newsletter (May 15, 2013)" comment: I started writing this part of my story (hidden somewhere in the recesses of my blog, see "Chapter ?: Waking Up" ) but haven't finished. I do however have at least one short story based off part of my experience; "Getting To Know You" ----------------------------- Funny song: The voices in my head by Stephen Lynch ------------------------------------------------ Old Notes I can't let go of ▼ |

---------------------------- BC Prompt: What do you feel is the greatest love story in literature? How did the author hook you into the story? If you aren't into love stories, pick your genre and answer. That's a tall order! Only 'Romance' I read is the Argeneau vamps and that's paranormal awesomeness. I LOVE the dynamic between Kate Daniels and her lion shape shifter hubby, very realistic (as far as human relations go; magic, not so much). But both of those are set in fantastical worlds. First thing to pop in my mind and stick is the 'love' between a parent and child. Just recently listened to Precious by Sapphire; and for her to learn to love herself through loving her incest children...incredibly powerful. Hetero love, I just can't get away from Romeo & Juliet. I hate the whole suicide thing, but if you alter it and imagine them physically fighting for their rights and dying in battle; then it truly would be the greatest story. I'm not a Nicholas Sparks uber-fan so I don't believe it's the Notebook (great movie and premise [Alzheimer's SUX!] but I've heard news stories where one spouse has to give up their job AND donate a kidney to keep their lover alive, THAT'S romance). The Fault in Our Stars might be after Romeo and Jules, because they were so young...and they were obsessed with a book. ----------------------------------------- Random Notes "Note: Congratulations to [Link To User cinnamonfringe]..." Review of "Mental Illness" This, among other notes I've read today, reminded me of how some people viewed my own meltdown not too long ago. Most were very understanding, some just simply ghosted and waited in the wings for me to pass, others outright did not want to be associated in any form. I didn't take anyones reaction personally. Mainly b/c I was busy putting myself back together, but also because I know and understand myself better than many people know themselves. I accept my flaws and limitations and strive to strengthen my weaknesses on the daily. Until the majority of this nation can relax the ego there will always be at least a slight stigma to mental health; just as there is to obesity and poor socio-economic standing [poverty]. -------------- "Note: Soooo, I have about 30 some-odd unopened cNotes bu..." Random Thought: I started using the Scrabble 'Q' costumicon yesterday. Not sure why. It was kind of b/t it or 'Z', both high point letters...I say Q is for Queer, not in a Gay way, in a queer way...different, off-beat and just plain strange. Yep, that's me. ----- Interesting review/member of the day: Review of "Battling BiPolar" |
BC Prompt: “It's the sides of the mountain that sustain life, not the top.” Robert M. Pirsig Interpret this quote in any form or style you wish. Using this in my next book! Basically it says to me that while the top (1%), financially, benefits the most, they would be nothing without the rest of us. ---- Note to self: Was updating my notepad to include a list of "People to look out for/Buy stuff/tickets for:" and the first word that came to mind was 'charity'. I hate that I feel weird titling this 'Charity'. Why is 'Charity' such a 'bad'/'insulting' word for some people? I think it's a bad idea to perpetuate b/c it infers that those receiving charitable donations are somehow...suffering. When really it's just nice people doing things for other nice people. So, as I often do when I need to remember the intrinsic meaning of a word, I went to Google (the new dictionary): 1.the voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of money, to those in need. synonyms: financial assistance · aid · welfare · relief · financial relief · [more] 2.an organization set up to provide help and raise money for those in need. synonyms: nonprofit organization · voluntary organization · [more] 3.kindness and tolerance in judging others: "she found it hard to look on her mother with much charity" synonyms: goodwill · compassion · consideration · concern · [more] I figure since 2/3 dealt with NEED, I can comfortable say, that while I THINK everyone "needs" support and community friendship, those in question may not feel they 'need' it. So I changed the list title to "Goodwill" ;-D ---------- Other notes: "Note: Throwback Monday! Remember when it was still..." "Note: I didn't know you could send ONE FREE BADGE ..."
