I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.
I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.
I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.
Ditto! I don't go to the movies nowadays, almost since probably more than ten years or so. Maybe because I don't like sitting in a dark place, doing nothing else, and especially because if I'm bored by the movie, it feels like being shut in a tomb or something.
Great that you learned to read early, as did I, at three and a half from my grandmother, by asking her the letters on her wall-calendar. And yes, we do get to have different teachers for different things in life.
Have fun with these famous movie phrases: Sugar and Spice, Houston we have a problem, I'm the king of the world, and show me the money.
Sorry to say I don't know the movies these came from. I used to have Netflix. Had to give it up a few years ago. Had to choose between movies or a phone. I chose a phone. Because of this I am way behind in movie watching. I do go onto prime and watch free prime movies on my kindle.
Also, looking forward to getting Netflix again. I used to find every movie I ever wanted to watch on Netflix. Anyway, I'm not sure I would be able to identify these sayings from a movie. I've heard, "Houston we have a problem" somewhere. Sometimes movies don't make much of an impression on my brain.
:On November 16th, food lovers get a dose of their favorite convenience food. Whether they use the drive-thru, dine-in, or get it to go, National Fast Food Day calls for us to grilled, fried, and broiled menu staples. What's your favorite fast-food?
Fast Food Day:
I guess Sub-Way is my favorite fast food. Today my favorite fast food at home is beef stew. I make a crock-pot full then freeze some for a quick meal day. I do lots of at home fast food. Some other at home favorites are chili, soup and grilled cheese, Gorton's fish fillets, or sloppy Joes. We don't have cash to eat out often. Making extra to pull from the freezer helps keep me from going crazy cooking for two.
We might be cleaning up the dead tree that fell on our driveway. The weather doesn't seem to be helping us. Suppose to be clear today. Still misty and wet outside. Not a fun day to move branches out of the driveway.
