A Journal to impart knowledge and facts
July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

o you follow/subscribe to any professional/topical blogs, or any particularly interesting non-WDC blogs? Why or why not? Share a couple links if you'd like, and tell us about them and why you're interested in them.

This book is a Hoot!

NO. I sometimes read news links. I usually look into blogs or other links that I see in the 30-day-challenge. My biggest source of nonfiction books is the County Library through the app Overdrive.

Why not? We have limited access to the internet. We cannot afford to buy more. We are linked through satellite from Hughes.Net. I also have a lot of busy work. So, I cannot spend more time presently online. I do most of my writing offline and only post to WDC when there is something special I want to keep or enter in a challenge. Presently, I am going through a big cleanup in my home and online. I am redoing my files in my portfolio with WDC. Eventually I will probably delete some of the reviews I have done for the Monthly Reading Challenge. If it seems like I am taking a long time at it it is because I read every day. Plus, it is winter. I sleep more in winter. Plus, on a day like today, with a winter storm raging it takes longer to do outside chores.

This morning I loaded in firewood from the outside shed, cleaned stalls, fed and watered horses, and filled outside feeders for birds and squirrels. I was busy for about 2 hours. When I came inside I spent an hour reading and drinking hot tea. Then I fed me and the dogs lunch and spent an hour rearranging my documents file online. Yesterday, I spent a lot of time cleaning house, laundry and other miscellaneous rearranging to keep us neat. Daily exercise and yoga also take up some of my time.

Because of a 30-Day-Challenge blog in 2016 I became more aware of the blogs out there in cyber space. I copied a couple of links to some I thought would be fun to follow. But, I don't follow anything with any kind of regularity.

If I become interested or curious about some word or subject in a book or some science I see I will go online or to the library to find out more about it. Basically, in the middle of the summer of 2016 I discovered how unorganized I have become so I'm trying to change that into daily organization again.

I like to visit Science magazine.com once in awhile. How to Geek always is an informative place for me to visit. Today, I would like to visit Florida or Texas surely, it must be warmer in those spots than it is here. *Laugh* OK Time for a hot drink.
