Day 2102: Eat. Love. Pray. Use these words I your Blog entry today. I pray "Intone, O My servant, the verses of God that have been received by thee, as intoned by them who have drawn nigh unto Him, that the sweetness of thy melody may kindle thine own soul, and attract the hearts of all men. Whoso reciteth, in the privacy of his chamber, the verses revealed by God, the scattering angels of the Almighty shall scatter abroad the fragrance of the words uttered by his mouth, and shall cause the heart of every righteous man to throb. Though he may, at first, remain unaware of its effect, yet the virtue of the grace vouchsafed unto him must needs sooner or later exercise its influence upon his soul. Thus have the mysteries of the Revelation of God been decreed by virtue of the Will of Him Who is the Source of power and wisdom." I meditate on the four types love as spoken of by 'Abdu'l-Baha in Paris Talks56: The love of God for humanity; The love of humanity for God: The love of God for His own Identity; The love of the individual human being for another human or other humans. I eat to live! To experience another day of prayer, and of God's love. Footnotes |

Optional Bonus Mystery Prompt In the spirit of saving the best for last, let's explore life's greatest mystery - What awaits us in the after-life? My spiritual being believes in eternal life, but scientifically speaking I struggle with the concept. "And now concerning thy question regarding the soul of man and its survival after death. Know thou of a truth that the soul, after its separation from the body, will continue to progress until it attaineth the presence of God, in a state and condition which neither the revolution of ages and centuries, nor the changes and chances of this world, can alter. It will endure as long as the Kingdom of God, His sovereignty, His dominion and power will endure. It will manifest the signs of God and His attributes, and will reveal His loving kindness and bounty. The movement of My Pen is stilled when it attempteth to befittingly describe the loftiness and glory of so exalted a station...." No one can know for sure precisely what awaits the soul after its separation from the physical body. On the material plane, the soul is in partnership with the physical body. This can be likened to the child in its mother's womb where it acquires the physical attributes it needs to survive on the material/physical plane. While the soul is in partnership with the physical body, it acquires the spiritual attributes it will need to prosper and thrive in the spiritual world. Once the soul is separated from the physical body it is clothed in the spiritual attributes it acquired and practiced on the material plane. At the point of physical death, the soul ascends into the spiritual world and moves through the spiritual world toward the Creator. What the spiritual world, which some call heaven, looks like is unknown. Each of the Manifestations of God have given hints of its appearance, but none of them--not even Baha'u'llah (the latest Divine Manifestation)--have given concrete descriptions of it. I believe that after death my soul will ascend into the Abha Paradise{footnote:#}The Bahai name for heaven./footnote}, and continue its movement toward God. Footnotes |

Staying at Home: Wall Talk These walls are made for talkin’! The popcorn’s poppin’ and we’re all rubbing our hands together in anticipation of what we’re about to read. We’re ready for the whole story, no matter how funny! Are ya ready, walls? Start talkin! Apartment walls are paper thin and let all the outside noises in. They speak to those who listen with anticipation to the memories concealed beneath layers of off-white paint. Walls cannot keep secrets, they hear with invisible ears, they speak with invisible mouths, they whisper about the fears of their present and their past inhabitants.. Walls air everyone's dirty laundry, they intone the wishes and hopes of the neighborhood. |

5 DAY Andre the Blog Monkey's April Fools Mystery Writing Challenge Blog Prompt for Day 5 Yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery. Think about your future, short-term then long-term, is it all a mystery or fairly predictable, share your findings in today's blog entry. Thank you for playing along in this 5 Day Challenge. I enjoyed it so much I'm adding a BONUS PROMPT for Day 5.1 (April 15th) I was going to release the prompt in this post, but then thought, No! I'll leave it a mystery. I inhale the fragrance of life, And give thanks for another day. Life, like the universe, if full of mysteries, miracles, and hope. You can't be sure when you go to bed if you'll wake up in the morning. You hope you will wake up, so you take that hope as a concrete expectation. You can't be sure when you wake up if you'll live through another day, you hope you will, but you can't be sure. Each day you live you hope and expect to live another day, but there is no guarantee. I listen to sparrows sing I watch palm tree shadows dance In morning's wind |

Andre's Stone Ball Challenge ** Image ID #2218952 Unavailable ** Hundreds of these large stone spheres are scattered across the Costa Rican jungle and are thought to have been constructed by prehistoric humans. For years, they have baffled scientists and archaeologists as to why they are there and how they were built. The spheres range up to 2.4 meters (8 ft) in diameter and are almost perfectly round. 5 DAY Andre the Blog Monkey's April Fools Mystery Writing Challenge Blog Prompt for Day 4 - Andre the Blog Monkey helped me out with today's prompt. Andre sometimes drinks vodka to a point where he talks of stone ball drinking parties in the jungles of Costa Rica. I looked it up and it's a legit thing. I asked> Andre about the stone balls but he doesn't remember much about anything. Andre will name a drink in the bar after the blogger who writes the best explanation of ... The Mystery of the Stone Balls of Costa Rica Dragon Eggs The Stone Balls of Costa Rica are fossilized dragon eggs. When dragons inhabited Earth, in the distant past, they migrated to Costa Rica and the ocean around it to mate and lay their eggs. After the eggs were laid, two or three of t he golden females would remain to take care of the eggs. In order for the eggs to properly hatch, they had to be turned once a day. Sometimes one of the females would miss turning an egg, which caused the egg to fossilize and not hatch. We hope the eggs are all fossilized. There is a rumor or a myth that every millennia or so, one of the eggs hatches and releases either a bronze male or a gold female dragon. Any egg an unmated female lays is infertile and therefore will fossilizes. Fortunately, at least for the human race, dragons only live a few hundred years. This means that the bronze or the gold dragon will die before it can mate with another dragon. Any dragons seen by humans are chalked up to either UFOs or someone being drunk. The biggest danger is two eggs hatching about the same time and releasing a gold female and a bronze male. |

5 DAY Andre the Blog Monkey's April Fools Mystery Writing Challenge Blog Prompt for Day 3 - In today's mystery blog challenge you'll write a detailed description of a MURDER scene. Da - Da - Daaaa You'll have a victim and a cast of suspects, including possible murder weapons, motive, etc. End your entry with this challenge to your readers. "It's up to you to solve this murder in a comment on my entry." Merit Badges will be awarded to the best MURDER scene and the best solution to the mystery. Nobody leave the building! Murder is always so messy, and its never the obvious suspect that commits the crime. "Murder is always so messy," Inspector Clouseau said, as he looked around the room. "Nobody leave the building! Especially those who have blood on their hands, which," he look down at his own bloodstained hands, "would appear to be everyone in this room." He took a handkerchief out of his suit pocket and wiped the blood from his hands. Looking down at the body of mrs. Amanda Harcord, he shook his head. "Of course, the obvious suspect is Mrs. Harcord's husband Glen. However, since Mr. Harcord isn't in this room or even in the building, he's probably innocent. The next obvious suspect is Jeeve3s, the butler, but that's way too obvious. Besides Mrs. Harcord just tripled his salary, so he's not going to kill the goose that laying the golden eggs." Taking a magnifying glass out of his coat picket, he walked around the room studying the blood stains on the walls. He returned to the body, knelt beside it, and--being careful not to leave any finger prints--removed the letter opener sticking out of Mrs. Harcord's chest. He studied it closely, and replaced it in the exact spot he removed it. He stood up, walked over to the professional gigolo Marco St. James, and said. "I arrest you, Mr. St. James, for the murder of Mrs. Amanda Harcord." "How... How did you know?" "That's simple Mr. St. James, when I came into the room you shook hands with me, which is how I got blood on my hands. The other suspects got blood on their hands when they moved the body from the couch to the floor. They moved the body to distract me from the real suspect, and because you were blackmailing them with embarrassing photos. |

Bermuda Triangle Over the last 500 years, ships and airplanes have gone missing inside a triangular section of the North Atlantic Ocean called the Bermuda (or Devil's) Triangle. This mysterious area is bounded by the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda; Miami, Florida, U.S.; and the American territory of Puerto Rico. The earliest article to reference a disappearance was in The Miami Herald in 1950. However, the "Bermuda Triangle" itself was coined by Vincent Gaddis in a 1964 article. Since then, scientists and amateurs have floated various theories - from sea monsters to unidentified flying objects (UFOs) - but nobody has been successful in decoding the mystery. 5 DAY Andre the Blog Monkey's April Fools Mystery Writing Challenge Blog Prompt for Day 2 - I for one have always been interested in the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. I like to ponder possible explanations for what it is. Think about it for a few moments, then share your possible (or improbable) explanation. If there is another mystery you'd rather share your thoughts on, that's okay too. We live in a universe full of mysteries! "You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into… the Twilight Zone." Rod Serling We live in a universe full of mysteries! Mysteries that can only be solved through an unfettered search for truth and the use of our imagination. The Bermuda Triangle: An Artifact of Atlantis The Bermuda Triangle is an artifact of the lost continent of Atlantis, which--despite rumors to the contrary--was located in the Atlantic ocean in what is now called the Bermuda or Devil's Triangle. The Atlanteans created the Artifact for the purpose of helping them travel to different planets and other dimensions. Unfortunately, the Artifact had some unforeseen and dangerous side-effects. One of the side-effects was time travel, while another caused earthquakes. These earthquakes eventually destroyed Atlantis, but not the Artifact. When Atlantis was destroyed, the Artifact was left on. As a results, the Artifact periodically and at random intervals powers up. When the Artifact powers up it transports ships or planes to other dimensions or somewhere else in space and time. |

5 DAY Andre the Blog Monkey's April Fools Mystery Writing Challenge Blog Prompt for Day 1 - When mystery surrounds an object, that object then becomes a clue. Have you ever discovered a mysterious item, which became a clue to an investigation? Tell us about what you found and where the investigation led to. This happened in 2012, a few months before my mother died. She was sitting on the couch in the living room and began to cry. I ask her what was bothering her, and she said her grandfather had run away with a young woman. I couldn't get any more information out of her. I suspect she was referring to the only grandfather she remembered. Mom always said he had a long white beard. I would like to know more about this, but everyone who knew anything about it is long dead. Another mystery I would like solved is the reason for my Uncle Roy Newland's (I think it was Uncle Roy) divorce. The marriage lasted long enough to produce a child, who was adopted by one of his sisters. I know my great uncle never married again. I don't know what happened to his wife, or why they gave the daughter to his sister to raise. My parents and grandparents were raised at a time when family scandals were spoken of in whispers, and not around young children or even the following generation of adults. |

Day 2095: Write about the word believe in your Blog entry today. I believe that the present pandemic is God's way of demonstrating--to the nations of the world and humanity--that we need to unify to solve the world's problems. The world is like a single country, a virus or disease in one nation will spread quickly to the rest of the world. In order to find a vaccine or a cure we need to be able to work across national borders. One nation cannot build a wall high enough to keep a disease form invading it.
Wed. April 8th Prompt. What is the most ridiculous thing about what's happening this month? What is the most ridiculous thing happening this month? Partisan politics! Blaming another person, political party, nation, religion, or international body for what is happening instead of attempting to work in unity to solve the problem. No individual, nation, or religion is an island unto itself, because we cannot solve the world's problems unless we work in unity. We need to start tearing down walls between nations, religions, and individuals instead of building them. |

You get to pick three people- living or dead- to be quarantined with. But...in order to pass time, you have to play Monopoly. Who wins? Who cheats? Who cries? Who flips the table, sending pieces flying everywhere? You choose the players and how they see the game through its finish. Monopoly doesn't lend itself to happiness! Go directly to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $100.00. I've never played an uncivil game of Monopoly. When my siblings and I played it as children and young adults, we attempted to play by the rules. None of us got angry or upset about who won the game. When we played it, it was just a fun parlor game. However, I do understand that isn't the way some people feel about The game itself encourages greed, selfishness, and many other emotions that encourage the winner take all mentality. Who would I invite to play a game of Monopoly, other than my siblings? That's a difficult question because I would want to make sure whoever I invited understood that it was just a game, and didn't take winning or losing it seriously. When I play a game, I want to enjoy the game and not deal with people's moods. A game is more fun when a person doesn't take the winning or losing as a life or death situation. |

Istijlál (Majesty), 14 Bahá (Splendor) 177 B.E. Thursday, April 2, 2020 "I myself was in prison forty years – one year alone would have been impossible to bear – nobody survived that imprisonment more than a year! But, thank God, during all those forty years I was supremely happy! Every day, on waking, it was like hearing good tidings, and every night infinite joy was mine. Spirituality was my comfort, and turning to God was my greatest joy. If this had not been so, do you think it possible that I could have lived through those forty years in prison? Thus, spirituality is the greatest of God’s gifts, and ‘Life Everlasting’ means ‘Turning to God’." I choose happiness, contentment with what I have, gratitude for everything that happens to me, focus on the joy and beauty of everyday existence, and placing all the negatives in my life in the hands of God. Happiness is a positive decision that transforms the midnight hours of tests and difficulties into golden moments that transform the soul, and bring peace to the mind. Footnotes |

April 1 is supposed to be April Fool's Day. Since we're all #SaferAtHome, it's a bit harder to prank people. What are some things you can do remotely to somebody for a good laugh? It's Wednesday and time for some Midweek Reflections. It's also April Fool's Day, which normally makes me a bit nervous. That's why when I saw the meme on Facebook that said April Fool's Day was cancelled because no prank could come close to what's going on in the real world. I don't care for pranks anymore than I like April Fool's Day, neither make me happy. I don't find, most, pranks funny. I enjoy laughter and making people laugh. This is why I very seldom tell jokes. When I attempt to tell a joke I end up committing jokicide. I either murder the punchline or the entire joke, and people stare at me as if I'm an alien from another planet. So, how do I make people laugh? If I see something funny on Facebook, I will share it. If I can read a joke word-for-word, I will share it.
Day 2089t: Hope for the future. Use this line in your Blog entry today. At 73, I still have hope for the future. Hope that world peace will arrive. Hope that people will find happiness even when faced with difficulties. Hope that the human race will come together in peace, unity, love, and happiness. Hope and happiness are spiritual attributes, and choices that we make each day. |

Day 2691: What scent evokes memories for you? Happiness is the aroma of morning, the perfume of fresh brewed coffee brings back memories of my childhood. Grandpa making cowboy coffee in an electric percolator, and then rolling his own cigarettes while he waited for the coffee to brew.
DAY 2087 What color evokes strong memories for you? Happiness is the color of lilac and of rose: colors that bring back memories of my mother and grandmother. Grandma had a lilac bush growing in her yard close to the cottonwood tree that gave shade in the summer. Mama's favorite flower was the rose. |
