Our library offers language classes for immigrant parents as well as financial education.
There's tutoring for all ages at the library. There's computer classes. There's story time for the younger ones.
I love the monthly puppet shows; they teach children how to use the marionettes and then they do a monthly performance.
I loved Vincent Price, just rented the Pit and the Pendulum to watch again. I heard it read at a Poe event, I came home and read it again myself then watched. It brought back some cool memories of watching Vincent Price with my friends.
I have met, loved, and interacted with so many people in my 75 years on this earth, there is no need to invent wholly new characters for my writing. My story characters are an amalgam of many. Probably not done intentionally but inevitably so.
Places are usually from my childhood in England, alien planets and beings are not my thing.
Houses are always two story, even though have I lived in single level ones for nearly fifty years in Australia. Story animals are my dogs, long gone but never forgotten, always in my heart.
Storylines are based on true events, I‘ve found that truth is stranger than fiction and my family and friends are an endless supply of anecdotes which I morph into fiction.
