Thanks for your comments. Yes, you’ve right about things changing with age. I never thought I’d find myself incapacitated. Weird isn’t it? I’m sure we all have had the sense that ‘old age won’t happen to me!’ It seems life had other plans.😂

Nice entry.

Like you, I don't do clothes shopping anymore, and with the arthritis, I stopped walking outside, but I walk inside the house and around the yard. Things change greatly as we grow older and older.

Hats off to you! I don't think I could do what you did. On the other hand, having a lot of people fixing things while you are taking care of the kids and trying to keep them safe would have its own downers, too.
Anyhow, so glad you could and did do all that! That's some feat to be proud of.

I agree the cheetos aka the man who wants to be Hitler and Putin rolled into one, his ignorance will definitely have global impacts.

I've been getting as much as I can in order before my surgery on Monday, February 3rd. I'm having my right knee replaced followed my left shortly after. Writing didn't fit in for me either. Looking forward to seeing more of you in the months ahead.

weather where I live is also unsettling. Took the dogs out for a walk yesterday had some sunshine but today is fog and rain on top of a couple feet of snow turning everything to slush.

Every year I look forward to something called January Thaw. This year we just had a new blizzard every couple days. If the thaw does not show up properly in February, the sap won't run properly from the trees less maple syrup probably. Anyway, forecast says sunshine tomorrow. If we have a freeze in the night all slush will turn to ice.

The feeling was amazing indeed. The first night was the scariest but after that I found so much joy in each task I tried. I've surprised myself on more than one occasion, Yes I can do anything I set my mind to doing.

I can’t say I’d be tempted to go camping on my own, so I think you’re very brave. It would have given you so much confidence knowing you succeeded. Afterwords you must have felt as if there was nothing you couldn’t do on your own.

Movie heaven

PROMPT January 7th

What movie universe would be the best to live out the rest of your life in?

Well after today’s news it makes me want to go back in time, to a different era. My thoughts went to movies of the fifties and early sixties. I loved all the Rogers and Hammerstein musicals.
One particular movie I always loved was Roman Holiday starring Audrey Hepburn.
When my husband and I first met he had a Vespa scooter. We went for hundreds of miles on that.
The scene where Audrey is riding through Rome on her scooter looks delightful. Maybe Rome in the fifties might not be a bad time/place to live out the rest of my life.

Do you support any charitable organizations or causes through donations or volunteering? If so, what causes do you support? And if not, what would you support if you had the ability?

Yes we do have our favourite charities we support annually. My favourite is the Salvation Army. I love the way they support everyone in need regardless of their religion.
When our son was away from home after a family rift when he was eighteen a Sally Army Officer gave him $10. We sent the money back to him months later when our son told us about this kind man.
When I was younger I was a Wish Granter for an organisation which helped terminally ill children have a wish. They could ask for anything and the Foundation did their best to make it come true. I loved doing that.
Nowadays I don’t do much actually volunteering myself, although Im considering volunteering at the local church charity shop one day a week.
I do know our country would grind to a halt without volunteers.
