Excellent point! I have to take time out now and then just to say to myself, you have nothing to complain about when compared to others. I have a small medical condition but not life threatening. I am 79, see good, hear good, walk good - no complaints I say. So we do need to remind ourselves how good we have it.
I guess as you get older it comes before us more, like for Willie Nelson in his 90s. Age is a big factor. But, since we have no real control on age, we all age, we must make the best of it.
Blessings to you, and thanks for reminding me how go I have it!

I can understand the patients mistaking their gratitude for romantic love, since they were the ones suffering and they were helped. But when the doctors and nurses take that patient seriously, it becomes something else; luckily, this is rare.
Like you said, there are many kinds of love.
I'm with Sue on doing everything you can while you can Kåre เลียม Enga
Sue, I was a force to be reckoned with when it came to doing things until 3 years ago, and then I took that crazy fall off the ladder. That fall broke not just my feet and damaged two discs in my back and tore the cartilage in my knee but it stole my fearlessness in doing things. Now I find I'm afraid of doing anything that might be risky where I never used to worry about the possibilities.
I've never cared about physical appearances, the things that mattered most to me was doing the things I dreamed of doing like hiking in Bryce Canyon, traveling to all the National Parks, dancing all night with my hubby and then walking together as the sunrises. I've accomplished a few parks and danced with my hubby but not all night and thankfully we've seen a lot of sunrises together.
Grasp life with both hands. While you can travel do it, Kare. It’s the thing which gives you most joy and happiness. The warmer weather will do those aging bones good too. You don’t have to hop skip and jump to enjoy an outdoor food market or just sit and chat to a stranger. We need to find our pleasures where we can before it’s too late. Looking forward to reading your observations from Penang.
Sue
Prompt: Taking risks
What is better, staying safe or taking a risk? Did you ever have to make such a choice and would you do it again?
Life is all about risk. I was very risk averse until I was in my mid twenties. It was about that time we took the biggest risk in my life by taking our three years old daughter and leaving everything behind. We came to Australia, a place where we knew no one or even anything about the place. We risked everything to find a better life.
On a much smaller scale, I’ve risked abseiling when everything in my body was screaming at me not to walk backwards off that cliff! I’ve scuba dived in shark infested waters, been less than a few feet from a jumping crocodile and probably the most scary thing of all was to join a writers group at aged 75 and read out loud something I’d written.
