Thanks for your comments. Yes, you’ve right about things changing with age. I never thought I’d find myself incapacitated. Weird isn’t it? I’m sure we all have had the sense that ‘old age won’t happen to me!’ It seems life had other plans.😂

Nice entry.

Like you, I don't do clothes shopping anymore, and with the arthritis, I stopped walking outside, but I walk inside the house and around the yard. Things change greatly as we grow older and older.

Hats off to you! I don't think I could do what you did. On the other hand, having a lot of people fixing things while you are taking care of the kids and trying to keep them safe would have its own downers, too.
Anyhow, so glad you could and did do all that! That's some feat to be proud of.

I agree the cheetos aka the man who wants to be Hitler and Putin rolled into one, his ignorance will definitely have global impacts.

I've been getting as much as I can in order before my surgery on Monday, February 3rd. I'm having my right knee replaced followed my left shortly after. Writing didn't fit in for me either. Looking forward to seeing more of you in the months ahead.

weather where I live is also unsettling. Took the dogs out for a walk yesterday had some sunshine but today is fog and rain on top of a couple feet of snow turning everything to slush.

Every year I look forward to something called January Thaw. This year we just had a new blizzard every couple days. If the thaw does not show up properly in February, the sap won't run properly from the trees less maple syrup probably. Anyway, forecast says sunshine tomorrow. If we have a freeze in the night all slush will turn to ice.

The feeling was amazing indeed. The first night was the scariest but after that I found so much joy in each task I tried. I've surprised myself on more than one occasion, Yes I can do anything I set my mind to doing.

I can’t say I’d be tempted to go camping on my own, so I think you’re very brave. It would have given you so much confidence knowing you succeeded. Afterwords you must have felt as if there was nothing you couldn’t do on your own.

Stranger effect

PROMPT November 19th

Share a time when an interaction with a stranger had an affect on you.

I’m struggling to answer this prompt.
I have met hundreds of strangers whilst travelling and yet I can’t think of one who really had an affect on me.
Maybe they did effect me unknowingly when they directed me to destinations where I wouldn’t have necessarily gone and I never realised. Who knows when you’re lost in a foreign country one place is much like another. You know that sliding doors moment? We must do that all the time, making choices which change destiny but we are unaware.

PROMPT November 18th

Write about origins. You can take this literally as in where your family originated from (your history, culture, traditions), or you can focus on your own origins as a person.

When I read this prompt my first thought was the origin of ideas. Where do they come from? How does the brain come up with an original thought? Does anyone else see the wonder in this?

There is a fascination this days for people to find out where they came from. Television programmes are made with celebrities being taken back in time, sometimes over several hundred years. It makes for interesting watching, although why, I can't really say. After all why should we care if so and so's great, great, grandfather stole a loaf of bread and was transported to Australia? Yet we do.

Then there's your country of origin. I have to answer that question all the time when filling in forms. Really they mean the country of nationality. So I may be an Australian Citizen now but I'll always be of British Nationality. I don't mind, I'll always be a Pom at heart.
