Thanks for your comments. Yes, you’ve right about things changing with age. I never thought I’d find myself incapacitated. Weird isn’t it? I’m sure we all have had the sense that ‘old age won’t happen to me!’ It seems life had other plans.😂

Nice entry.

Like you, I don't do clothes shopping anymore, and with the arthritis, I stopped walking outside, but I walk inside the house and around the yard. Things change greatly as we grow older and older.

Hats off to you! I don't think I could do what you did. On the other hand, having a lot of people fixing things while you are taking care of the kids and trying to keep them safe would have its own downers, too.
Anyhow, so glad you could and did do all that! That's some feat to be proud of.

I agree the cheetos aka the man who wants to be Hitler and Putin rolled into one, his ignorance will definitely have global impacts.

I've been getting as much as I can in order before my surgery on Monday, February 3rd. I'm having my right knee replaced followed my left shortly after. Writing didn't fit in for me either. Looking forward to seeing more of you in the months ahead.

weather where I live is also unsettling. Took the dogs out for a walk yesterday had some sunshine but today is fog and rain on top of a couple feet of snow turning everything to slush.

Every year I look forward to something called January Thaw. This year we just had a new blizzard every couple days. If the thaw does not show up properly in February, the sap won't run properly from the trees less maple syrup probably. Anyway, forecast says sunshine tomorrow. If we have a freeze in the night all slush will turn to ice.

The feeling was amazing indeed. The first night was the scariest but after that I found so much joy in each task I tried. I've surprised myself on more than one occasion, Yes I can do anything I set my mind to doing.

I can’t say I’d be tempted to go camping on my own, so I think you’re very brave. It would have given you so much confidence knowing you succeeded. Afterwords you must have felt as if there was nothing you couldn’t do on your own.

Skill set

PROMPT November 23rd

Write about a time you discovered a new skill in yourself. Or write about the first time you put a new skill into practice.

I think it was about ten years ago, I nervously joined a local Creative Writer’s Group, I had no idea if I’d be any good at it, whatever ‘it’ was.
My husband said to me a few days ago, “ you know, your writing has improved!” Honestly I think he’s right. It has taken me that long to get ‘it’ right. Well, as much as one can ever get writing right. So maybe that’s my skill.
I love singing too. That’s a skill that only comes with practice. Since Covid when my singing group had to disband, my voice has disbanded too.
I’m a good listener. Is that a skill? I think it could be classed as one. It’s hard not to but in with opinions or advice. Most people just want to be heard.
