I've been banned from ladders too. In 2021 I fell off a ladder 11 steps down, broke both of my feet painting the trim on our house before we sold it. I made the move to Las Vegas with my feet in air casts and crutches.

I know that I’ve read just about every fairy tale and fable to my kids over the years, just as I was told them and my parents and their parents before them. It’s a wonderful thing that some things still get passed on in some form or other. These days it’s usually through film rather than books.
I hope the same stories continue be told and to evolve.
The only nursery rhyme’s origin I’m pretty sure of is Ring a ring a Rosie. It’s supposed to be about the great plague in 1665. The ring of roses is the rash that people got, and “Atishoo, atishoo, we all fall down “ is when they died from the disease.
