I loved Vincent Price, just rented the Pit and the Pendulum to watch again. I heard it read at a Poe event, I came home and read it again myself then watched. It brought back some cool memories of watching Vincent Price with my friends.
I remember The Birds so well, which is a miracle, considering my memory of late. But that movie didn't scare me. Maybe. Vincent Price did more. It might have been the tone of his voice and his special kind of articulation.
Hi, Jane, another Aussie! There aren’t many, I’m afraid. Welcome to WdC I hope you enjoy the ride. I have two adult family members in Queensland. My daughter lives in Cairns and my son in Bloomfield, very remote. We’re in Perth, WA
I hope to read some of your portfolio when I have a chance. Please feel free to pop in and check out mine.
Cheers Sue
Nope, don't think I would do that. I have been to Niagara Falls and that water is so bloody strong and the drop!! No thank you!!! Beautiful to look at though.
I am a bit the same. Those movies you mentioned such as Saw and Chainsaw Massacre I couldn't watch those. However I love things like Monster series on Netflix and just watched The Ed Gein Story and loved it. Which is strange to say but I think for me the real life horror is more psychology type thing. Why are these people the way they are?
I flip flop back between do I believe people are born evil or is it their environment etc.
In Ed's case I think that his mother and father had mental issues which can be hereditary, so most likely he had mental issues when he was born and then his upbringing with parents, especially his mother manifested those mental issues. It maybe could have been different had his issues been picked up when he was younger and helped. He eventually was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Anyway, probably didn't want to read all that ha ha ha.
Our world is so dependent on the internet and electricity, it would be utter chaos and dangerous. I can't imagine hos much crime would take place in a world like that.
Congratulations on making it to the last day of the competition! What was your favorite prompt from the last month? What was the most rewarding aspect of participating in the competition? What did you learn?
The best part of 30DBC is getting to know the fellow members. Because of my time zone I’m always one of the first to write anything each day, other than Robert Waltz and Kåre เลียม Enga they often beat me to it! Quite often I seem to miss out on getting around to reading all the blogs, although I do try. Each participant takes the given prompt and runs with it, each in their own way, opening up and sharing just a little of the person they are. I find this the best part of the whole experience.
I really enjoyed the musical memory prompt. It was fun letting my thoughts drift to times gone by, remembering what music was playing when an event took place. I didn’t realise how much I attached my parents to the music of their lives. Dad always sang around the house and Mum would join in. It never occurred to me that they were living a love story before this prompt.
