I just turned 68 on April 3rd and one of my younger nephews said to me, wow that's old. I told him it was just a number and one day he'll understand if he makes it this far. But I told him I had a secret to tell him on how "old" I really was. He replied back how old are you really? I said with a straight face, that I'm so old that when God said "Let There Be Light," I was the one who turned on the switch and being the blood of ours he is, he asked where auntie was? I said behind me holding the candle. ![]() It's nice when you can communicate with the younger gen for a nice laugh. ![]() His mom said I was cornily corrupting him. Yea I know. ![]() |
I never realized that the actions of an uncle to a nephew so closely paralleled those between a grandpa and a grandson. ![]() |

"You only live once, but you do it right once is enough." Mae West Quote is extremely wrong. No you DON'T live only once, You only DIE once but you LIVE everyday. |
I'm going to voice my opinion here about this quote. The Quote is correct 100%. Maybe the person saying it was incorrect, but the quote itself is correct. You are correct in what you say, but when you quote someone, you are repeating what they said, whether they are correct in what they say or not. By saying the quote is wrong, you're saying that what they said has been incorrectly stated. But, this is an accurate quote of what was said, so it's not wrong. I feel I'm going in circles here, but I hope you get my point. |
