I wanted to share a photo of a nearby lake. The temperature was -18oF and is now -29oF and still dropping, but the wind has switched to the south and it's supposed to start climbing, reaching 6oF tomorrow. It's dangerously cold, but it sure makes for some pretty sunsets.

The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Myers, but only because it had vampires! That and at the time I was writing a weird Vampire romance and I wanted to make sure I wasn't ripping off her work.*Blush*
Your photo reminds me of a visit to an iced-over Lake Ontario near Sackets Harbor, NY many years ago. Quite beautiful.
I didn't realize the surface of a lake still looks "wet" even when it's frozen solid. Thanks! It's been a while since I've lived up north, and I don't think I've ever laid eyes on a frozen lake. And those sun dogs are cool - I love catching them.

Not that one, but Hey Good Looking (Hank Williams) and King of the Road (Roger Miller). Listened to them with Grandpa all the time.
I remember Tex from the Ted Mack show - although not this particular song - and Roger Miller, too.

Sometimes, in the dark hours of the night I wake wondering, why has nobody has put bacon in deep-fried mozzarella sticks?

Well... my local fish and chip shop used to sell them (though I doubt the cheese was mozarella, most likely cheddar). Six of them with some dipping sauce - great snack!
