The story is based on real events and portrays a case of online payback for emotional trauma inflicted by a cybersex abuser. The male protagonist is a typical cybersex/sex addict described in research reports - "...Generally, what characterizes cybersex abusers is that they are heavy Internet users, are generally married, and are often well-educated professionals..." (Ami Rokach PhD, Karishma Patel MSc, in Human Sexuality, 2021). He has previously been caught by his wife but has chosen not to pursue therapy and continues to pursue the usual prey instead. Ignoring the problem boomerangs when he meets a young woman who develops feelings for him.
This simple story is also a way to draw your attention to a growingly common situation where real-life scenarios can be far worse. Just like a face-to-face sexual manipulation, online grooming and sexual exploitation can lead to serious repercussions and devastating effects on the victim's physical and mental health.
