Hi,
I just signed up on recommendation of a dear friend when I asked her help on finding the right outlet for my writing. I’m 48 and have been writing since I was 9. I do writing of all kinds. When I began at 9, it was songs and poems. I enjoy educating and do quite a bit of health and wellness writing as well as self development stuff. Social commentary and inspirational writing are also areas in which I do a lot of writing.

I think I have come to the realization that I need to find a forum or outlet for my writing. I have a lot to say and social media isn't really the place for it. I would like help in finding what forums or outlets to use to do this. Do I write articles to submit where? Do I write books? Do I blog? Where? How do I find my audience? Do I do a combination of these things? I have done and considered that I would do most of them.
I have several writing ideas percolating as I have over the years and I’m tired of sitting on them.
Writing is one of my favorite things to do and yet I’ve done nothing with it. I desire to change that.

Finding fans: Fans can be found anywhere, but normally, unlike regular fans, here you get fans through relationships. Yes, people will fan folks they don't know well if they see them as really bringing value. But they're more likely to fan the items written by a stranger than to fan the stranger. *Wink* Thus, relationships on WdC are really important. That means it's important to get out there and socialize.

I think the Community Newsfeed is an important place to hang out and am always harping on others to get over there, but folks prefer to often focus on their own projects instead of making friends and seeing who/what else is out there. *Pthb* But especially as a newbie, I encourage you to check out the Community Newsfeed.

To get to the Community Newsfeed, click Newsfeed. This will take you to your Personal Newsfeed. Here you will see official WdC notes as well as things posted by anyone whose plus you've clicked once or twice. Along the top of your Personal Newsfeed, you'll see View the Community Newsfeed. Click that. Now you'll see what EVERYONE is posting (within your rating), not just your tiny corner of WdC. Check it out! Scroll, Like, comment, and start making friends. Unlike many social media pages, WdC folks like it when a stranger posts on their Newsfeed notes. *Smile* (Though we don't like drama here, so be mindful of anything controversial you want to post. If you are tempted, read other comments to see how things are going. Even read comments on other notes. You won't see too much controversy. Writers are often sensitive people and this is a safe space for encouragement and support. There are other places that are better if you are looking for a "steel sharpens steel" type of atmosphere. *Hug1**Smile**Hug2*) Feel free to join in any conversation that appeals. Also, click links that pique your curiosity. Get to know folks and their items. Soon, if you're outgoing and friendly, you'll find other folks are starting to click your plus sign. Though a few will automatically fan you if you fan them first. And a few (like me) will reward all new fans. But most will only fan you after building a relationship with you. *Heart*

Good luck! You asked a lot of questions, so I'm sure you found my replies overwhelming. *Yikes* Sorry! *Hug1**Smile**Hug2*

Anyway, check out the Community Newsfeed and click the links on the left side of the screen as well. You probably won't break anything. *Laugh* Explore! And welcome to WdC! *Hug1**Smile**Hug2*
To answer your question.

Write whatever your Muse leads you to today! Why limit yourself?
