I've just edited an item in my portfolio:
|
Nothing like being forced offline so your internet provider can do massive upgrades. Couldn't be online for my 'morning routine.' Grumble, grumble, POUT! So, okay, guess I'd better get back to the book and write! So I did. Final chapter of book 1 in the duology, and first 2 chapters of book 2. Was taking a think break and Voila! We are back online. Official breaktime! Now, what were those three things I needed to check on that I didn't write down...no clue. Darn it all! Ah well. But I wrote close to 2500 words this morning! All is well in writerland.
Might be silly, but I don't care! Totally geeked and excited--and where better to spew than to people whom I know will totally understand and get it! Working on a new trilogy-- 3 strangers, (women) are brought together to each have to solve a riddle (of sorts) to find an item that when all 3 have completed their 'mission' and found their item will all 'fit' together to form a 'something' which will set off a whole series of events. But some 'things' were blocking my way. Wasn't happy with main male character's name--it just didn't fit, didn't resonate in my brain, wasn't right, gosh darn it and I knew it wasn't.I am now a happy camper as I've figured out his name - his perfect(!) name (and created a new character in the process who needs to be his twin!)--that's the first part of my being geeked. Second part, which came to be doing further research on first part! Also figured out not only what they each need to find, (and why), but what each'll be made up of and how it will all 'fit' together!!!! This is HUGE and it's been that block that was holding the story back. *bouncing in my chair!!* I am just soooo happy! Gotta love it when the pieces fall into place!!!!!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So excited! My latest book, Place Settings: An Anomaly Finding Home will be out Monday! (in print, at least - expect a Kindle version early next week! What am I? I am a study in contradictions, a smudge of color outside the lines, a free-spirited soul, and a unique collection of stardust. I am unapologetically myself. Finally. It took me a while to arrive at this vantage point. But the view is glorious! Come. I invite you to get to know the many me-s of me. I’m a survivor, but more. I’m an adventurer, but still, more than that. I’m a collector of words, books, people, and experiences. I wish to share what I’ve learned. Travel by my side, see through my eyes, and perchance you will glean something new, perhaps a fresh perspective, and, at the very least, be reminded of the best parts of you!
Thanking everyone for all the birthday thoughts and wishes. Turning 70 (!) has had quite the impact. My grandmother said 70 was a 'venerable' age. I have kids in their 40s ...How can this be? I don't FEEL 'old.' Well, then there is a little thing called movement. LOL. But once up and about, I'm good. Can't recall the poet who said it --but 'I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I am in!'
Odd question, perhaps. Anyone speak Crow? Research question and I need to hear several phrases spoken.
Youtube. Look under Crow Language: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGnbG3OhC5E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHHUhU0kTsg I have a friend who speaks it. Visit Montana!
