So I've been a visitor here for some time and recently decided to throw my hat in. I'm working on becoming an author in my own right, but am currently working as a freelance commission based writer on the side. I work roughly 40 to 48 hours a week first shift at a warehouse and write when I can when I'm not at work. Currently I take both SFW and NSFW requests and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for putting myself out there?

I've got one job lined up for next year, but I'm looking for more work on the side until then. I've got a couple of clients at the moment who are wanting relatively short pieces from me; roughly 2-5k for each piece as far as word count. I've done a couple of requested chapters on here; nothing I'm super proud of, but I aim to give people what they want/request. If anyone has any advice for an upstart writer I'd greatly appreciate it.
It depends on what you think your writing is worth and what the market currently will offer for it. Years ago, there was money to be made freelancing. Then a world of writers employing English as a second language poured in, lowered the asking price for a piece of prose with their rudimentary rewrites of Wikipedia like materials, and I opted out. The most I made in one year did not require me pay additional taxes.

Maybe you could become a moderator or something here. Let me know if they pay. They say they don't...
