Historian Henry Abramson is my primary source of information for the Biblical-based novel (Haish am Hachmore) I am writing.
Our Chocolate lab, see pic from about ten years ago, is now 15. We go for several walks each day/night. Yesterday, we were walking at our community's retention bond. We walked the tree-line loop once, and he wanted to go again. I told him no, we're not going two loops, and we kept walking around the community.

At his age, I mostly let him go where he wants to for as long as possible. Then, he decides when it is time to go back home.

Today, he wanted to go back to the retention pond, so we did. I figured he was going to try to do two loops again. He led me down the tree line to the end, then turned around and went back to the beginning. Okay, I figured that was it.

But he then led me down the other side of the tree line to the end, turned around, and walked back to the beginning again.

Then I said, YOU SOB! You outsmarted me!

Because we ended up doing two loops anyway!
I've been searching for these interviews for a year or so but have been unsuccessful until now!

I've just posted this week's weekly Reading and Videos #4, when three angels visit Abraham.

The Haftarah reading is about The Model of God appearing, a Miraculous Birth, Death, and Resurrection!

The New Testament reading is Luke 1:26-38, which is when Gabriel Appeared to Mary.

Plus, a bonus section on Proverbs 31, Woman of Valor.

The Hebrews recite Proverbs 31 as a blessing to their wives every Friday evening during their Sabbath dinner.

My Honest Thoughts about Proverbs 31 is a great teaching by a Christian woman, Ashley, on this Bible verse.

As with most if not all peoples, I have a long list of war veterans on both my paternal and maternal sides. I wonder sometimes, what the conversations would be if they could all gather in one room to see the results from hundreds of years of life. Especially those that fought on opposite sides of the US civil war.

The earliest mention for my paternal family of military veteran is Guy Swete of Train Manor, Modbery, Devonshire England. He was granted a Coat of Arms, Crest and the Traine Manor itself by King Edward the fourth in 1473.
SWET, SWETE, SWETT COAT OF ARMS (swett-genealogy.com)
"Almost certainly, Guy Swete earned this award by fighting for York in the Wars of the Roses."
Interestingly, by the early 1600's my paternal family (John Isaac Sweet SR (1579-1637) fled England because of persecution by the Church of England. My family at that time were Quakers. The Quakers admonished slavery, fought for equal rights of women and believed there should be no intermediary between God and man. They also were conscientious objectors. He was later granted by the courts to be a "freeman". Which likely meant he had to borrow money for the trip and therefore work to pay off the loan (indentured servant) before he could own property or vote.

Below is a listing of my Paternal Veterans of War

William "of Hunt's Bluff" Sweat, 1732-1783-7th Great Grandfather Patriot
William "of St Peters" Sweat, 1757-1790-6th Great Grandfather Patriot

Reverend William K Sweat, 1812-1881 (Pvt. SC 4th Cavalry and POW), 3rd Great Grandfather**
Henry William Sweatt, 1830 - 1888 (Pvt, SC 4th Cavalry), 2nd Great Grandfather**
**History of the South Carolina 4th Cavalry;

4th South Carolina Cavalry Regiment Confederate Regiments & Batteries * South Carolina The 4th South Carolina Cavalry Regiment lost over 260 men killed, or died of wounds or disease, the most of any South Carolina Cavalry unit.
Hollis Rodell Sweatt, 1929-1998, Cpl, US Airforce WWII, England, Father

I do not have as many details on my maternal side of the family.
Only two.

William H Tyler 1827-1884 Civil War Unit D. 7th Battalion Washington D.C. Infantry my 3rd Great Grandfather

Note; The back story goes like this.

My Maternal Grandmother, Frances M. Rhine 1910-2004 who worked in the Department of the Navy's budget office for 30 years said William Tyler her great grandfather was a traveling art dealer! Really?

William H Tyler 1827-1884 Civil War Unit D. 7th Battalion Washington D.C. Infantry my 3rd Great Grandfather
During the civil war?

William K. Rhine, 1904-1964 Sgt 44th Engr Bn Arlington Nat. Cemetery Section 43 Site 172.

Additional notes here is Granddaddy Rhine joined the Army when he was just fifteen years old in 1919.
Therefore, he served in both WWI and WWII! I was able to spend a lot of time with him before he passed away from cancer when I was 7 years old. His nickname was "shorty".

He told me, Whenever he would get promoted to Staff Sergeant, he would go out to celebrate, get drunk and get into a fight, then get busted back to Sergeant. He did this because he hated being a Staff Sergeant!

In summary; My maternal 3rd great-grandfather fought for the Union and my paternal great-grandfathers Reverend William K Sweatt (3rd) and Henry W. Sweatt fought for the Confederacy.

I wonder if they could talk today, what would they say? Another kicker is this. Reverend William K and Henry W. were black.

The census says they were black but "considered" white!

My lineage shows none ever owned slaves according to the available census records. At least two of my paternal grandmothers were former slaves. Both William of St Peters and my Reverend William K were married to former slave women. St Peter's Church, which is still there in Beaufort SC, was an outreach to the slaves "back in the day".

I've completed this week's Bible Reading Blog!

Hi WDC,

I just posted this week's, Alter Called Witness Blog #9 by Hollis Frances.

This will be the last blog for the Alter Called Witness. While the findings of my investigation into the Hebrew Zodiac is very interesting, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things. The fact that God has left a “marker” in the heavens, i.e. Makemake, as a reference of His handiwork for us to cling to and believe in all the words of the Bible,
we still must be diligent in the work of bringing God’s love down to this earth to share with others.

For it is His love we share to others that brings them to acknowledge His presence. Not our interpretations of His creation.

May God cause His face to shine on each of you!
God Bless,
Hollis Frances
After about 15-20 seconds, Zee and I both heard a very heavy foot stomp! The sound came from behind and left of our position! Adam didn't hear the foot stomp, for he was "the point" and a few yards ahead of us.

We stayed there another five minutes or so. There were no other interactions for the rest of our trek, which was about two hours. Later on Sunday, on my six-hour drive back home, it suddenly dawned on me: Why didn't I call out? I should have said, "OK, we communicated. Now what? Can you show yourself?" I didn't feel threatened during the incident. It is very strange how excited we were about the experience and yet simply moved on our own. We had no desire to try to traverse off of the path, neither up nor down, for the terrain is quite steep and not cleared like the path we were traveling on. One thing I know for certain, it was a real experience. And I do believe there is something intelligent out there.

By the way, There are many great fishing opportunities at Blackwater Falls State Park. At Pendleton Lake, you can catch bass, bluegill, catfish, and trout.
