| After publishing "Visit of the Wise Men," I realized I had made two errors. One omission from the Gospel of Matthew, and the other, I misinterpreted a verse from the Gospel of Luke. On Page 16 of the Visit of the Wise Men. In Matthew Chapter 2, verses 1- 12 The Wise Men rejoiced when they saw the star and traveled to Bethlehem, bowed down and worshiped the Child, provided gifts, and then traveled a different route to their own country so as not to inform Herod of where they found the Messiah. I neglected to mention the other possible return routes. Instead of going north past Jerusalem, they likely would have travelled south, then east. Then, they either took the King’s highway trade route north or continued east across the desert. If they had traveled on King’s Highway, they would have been about 45 miles east of Jerusalem while passing that area. On Page 16 of the Visit of the Wise Men. Luke’s Gospel never mentions the visit of the wise men. After recounting the story of Simeon and Anna, Luke turns to Joseph, Mary, and Jesus's return to Galilee. The child continued to grow, becoming stronger and wiser. And every year they traveled to Jerusalem for the Passover Feasts. (See Below) The Family Returns to Nazareth So, when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth. My initial reading of this verse suggested that, after the circumcision on the 8th day, they returned to Galilee. But, when Luke writes, they had performed ALL things according to the law of the Lord, this would include the 12-13 years of Torah study for a boy. Also, the Wise Men traveling a different route matches up with the Angel of the Lord telling Joseph in a dream to go to Egypt, for Herod is going to kill all the children 2 years and under in Bethlehem. Herod had not known about the coming of the Messiah until the Wisemen told him. To which Herod asked them, When did the star first appear? It could be that Joseph traveled south with the Wisemen for a distance before heading west toward Memphis, Egypt. At the same time, the Wisemen’s caravan headed eastward. I just wanted to relay these additional thoughts of mine. These ideas are my conjecture. |

| I research the kabbalah when writing my book, Alter Called Witness. The Hebrew word, 'Alter' means old man or old one. According to the "Sepher Yetzirah", the Hebrew letters are spiritual frequencies that created the universe. A different Hebrew letter controls or influences the constellation and planet of the month. By connecting to these letters through meditation we can draw down specific energy to empower and enlighten us. The letters for the month of Nissan are Dalet and Hei (see below). Dalet created the Planet Mars, also the name of the Roman god of war. Accordingly, this is a month that also contains confrontations and battles. We learn that a war is always being fought within each of us and we can harvest the energy on Rosh Chodesh and throughout the month to resolve our inner conflict. The holiday of Passover which starts on the 15th of Nissan is a historical remembrance of breaking out of the literal bonds of slavery in Egypt. On a deeper level it is about escaping the bondage of our own ego, breaking free and winning the war against our personal addictions and enslavement on both a personal and professional level. Addictions are not just alcoholism or gambling, but can be self-righteousness, holding grudges, resentment, jealousy, etc. The letter Hey created the constellation of Aries which symbolizes the Ram and is associated with the head. Those born under the sign of Aries are typically strong-willed and tend to rush into things headfirst with no tolerance for opposition. The childlike characteristics of Aries are the result of being the first astrological sign of the year, without having the benefit of seeing all the other signs that follow. Like all astrological signs, the key is not to be subject to its general characteristics, but rather to understand the sign and to make corrections in our lives to rise above any pre-disposed traits. This brief historical overview is key to understanding the beauty that is allowed to flourish with Hebrew text. In particular is the well-known word, Shalom. The word means more than peace. It represents wholeness, wellness, well-being, safe, happy, friendly, favor, completeness to make peace, peace offering, secure, to prosper, be victorious, be content, tranquil, quiet restful. The pictographic symbols for Shalom’s word (shin, lamad, vav, mem) read, “Destroy the authority that binds to chaos.” As a noun, shalom is derived from the verbal form shalam, which means “to restore” in a sense or replacing or providing what is needed to make someone or something whole and complete[3].
