Tip: Write something you can finish and then do it again.
My first tip isn't going to help you right this minute, but it'll last a lifetime: READ. Read books for school (obviously), read some classics even if you don't have to, and especially and most importantly (in my opinion) read what you love. The more you read, the more you'll understand writing as craft. You'll learn writing skills through your familiarity with the written word. I've heard innumerable times that the best writers are voracious readers.
If you have any questions about what to read (if you aren't already drinking your library dry) feel free to send me an email.
Good luck!
