I am currently new to writing 101 I am trying to figure out on how all this operates. I am also open to meeting new people and creating beautiful pieces of literature together!
When you write something in your portfolio you can post it on the feed by typing {item:xxxxxxx} where the xs are the item number of whatever you want other people to take a look at. It is one of the easier ways to get views and reviews.
But it will only be seen by people who have fanned or favorited you as a member or who are trolling on the community newsfeed.
THe community newsfeed is where everyone's posts within the rating range you have selected are shown to get to it go to the newsfeed tab and click it that will take you to your newsfeed which is most likely pretty barren. If you want to have more on it go to the community feed which can be reached via the community newsfeed tab at the top of your feed.
Then search down it and find someone's post that interests you.
This is where fanning or favoriting come in. To the right of their handle there is a little plus sign. Click once to favorite. this will bring their posts up on your feed.
Click twice to fan them. This will bring their posts up on your feed and tell them that you are now their fan.
Lots of people fan you back.
There are a few people you should consider fanning. Schnujo's Doing NaNoWriMo? is very helpful usually. RIght now she is out of internet range for a few months but fanning her is a good plan since she often rewards her fans with gift points or GPS for fanning her or her contest or challenge.
